  1. Guys, love the podcast but do you realise that what you plan to do will take you 14 years?

  2. Haha, yes we're fully aware of the daunting task ahead of us. As a matter of fact, I think we calculated it would be closer to TWENTY years! And that if the new series wasn't producing any new episodes, which it still is.

Anyway, I think part of the appeal of Who Noobs is how insanely far behind we are, so even if we NEVER get caught up, we're still having fun critiquing old TV show episodes. And long-time Doctor Who fans will always be able to revel in our naivety.

So, we're not concerned with how daunting a task we've embarked upon. Rather we're just taking it one week at at time and enjoying the ride!

Thanks for listening and we look forward to any feedback you may have.

  3. while you enjoy watching and discussing old Who, you should really watch (without reviewing) new Who. A few comments made during this podcast where of the way of "I wonder if The new Who is still..."

Check it out, you'll love it.

  4. I've heard nothing but good things about the new series. As a matter of fact, part of the reason I wanted to start watching Doctor Who is because I have many friends who rant and rave about the new series all the time.

But, as insanely tempting as it is, we're trying to stay as spoiler-free as possible with the show. Part of the enjoyment of doing Who Noobs is the tease in knowing that most of our questions have been answered over the years, and that most of our listeners KNOW those answers. As a listener, I'm sure it's entertaining to be sitting there thinking "I know something you don't know!"

  5. I have to confess, I myself have seen a few snippets of the newer series, namely Tennant and Smith episodes (via channel flipping).

However, whether we like it or not, our "business model" mandates that we remain "n00bs", otherwise our podcasts wouldn't be very honest.

You know, I gained some perspective this week when WWE aired their 900th episode of Monday Night Raw, which has been on the air weekly since 1993. If Vince McMahon has the perseverance to run 900 weekly episodes for 17+ consecutive years, then why can't we?

Will YOU be there to celebrate with us when we finally "catch up"? ;-)

  7. Hey guys,
I've only recently found the cast, but I'm liking it so far!! I grew up with the Tom Baker Doctor, but I have come to love the earlier Doctors nearly as much!!

It's a little wierd hearing your perspectives on the show, while having so much knowledge of what you are going to experience in the future!!

I know the acting, sets and filming are ametuerish to a modern sense, but try to keep it in the Dark Shadows perspective - thease are the shows that established the cliches and pioneered the special effects industry!!! If you have a chance, listen to some of the commentary on the Dark Shadows DVD's, they were on the cutting edge of technology and special effects!

I hope you guys fire up again soon, I'll be caught up with your show in a few hours!

    :-)

  8. Thanks for the feedback, Silvester. We're very pleased you're enjoying it. Kevin and I are both itching to get back to the podcast, so we're looking forward to some "new" episodes very soon.

We're very well aware of the context of the show's "amateur" production values, so many of our comments in that regard are meant to be humorous observations, rather than genuine criticism of the show.
